This is a wonderful original silver plate antique victorian figural napkin ring marked with #162 Rogers Silver Quadruple Plate for Rogers Silver, USA that was acquired and the named changed in 1879 when acquired by Meriden Britannia. The napkin ring features a flower on one side, a curving stem on the other and is seated on a leaf. It was totally black, but it has cleaned up to reveal very little plating loss and would probably shine up beautifully. These figural victorian napkin rings are becoming ever more difficult to find and this is a wonderful example as well as just the thing to still grace an elegant tea table.
A pair of wine decanter or bottle coasters, with turned wooden bases and gadrooned edges. They each measure 4.5cm high (1.3/4 inches) and are just under 15cm diameter (5.3/4 inches). No maker's or other marks. The bases underneath have lost their baize, having only a rough cloth over the wood, but baize is easily replaced. Very good condition - there are a few tiny dents to one, and one to the other. The copper bleed is only seen underneath the bottom edge, where the plate is folded over, and inside on the raised edges of the moulded sides (there is so much reflection of the base wood, that it's hard to spot the copper. A very nice pair. You can feel the rim under the edge of the gadrooning. Circa early to mid 19th century.
A set of 6 fruit knives and forks (or entree knives and forks - great for luncheon dishes too). They have very ornate sterling silver handles, with a intertwined embossed design of grapes, leaves and wheat. The blades and tines are silver plated. The sterling silver handles are hallmarked as being made by M. H. & Co (Martin Hall & Co), Sheffield. There are no date marks - just the lion, the Queen's head and the crown of Sheffield. Probably mid 19th century. Knives are 21.5cm long, and forks are 18cm long (8.1/4 inches and 7 inches). Condition: This set has been used, and the blades and tines show scuffing commensurate with this. There is loss of plate in a few bubbles on the blades (see photo), and at the fork tips. Two of the forks have a gap between the silver collar and the beginning of the silver plated metal (see close-up photo of this). This is generally caused by either washing them in too hot water, or putting them through a dishwasher. (The glue inside the handles melts, and the metal pulls away ). It can be reversed by heating and re-seating the metal - I have had my own set done. However, it is not hugely noticeable, and the forks can be used quite easily as they are. This is a beautiful set, some 150 years old. To be perfect, you could have the blades and tines replated, reseat the few items that need it, and you would have a valuable antique set to enjoy and pass on. Or - use them as they are, and accept their age and beauty.
A small jug, sterling silver, dating from the mid 18th century, George III period. The hallmarks are rubbed, but the crowned leopard's head is visible, and the initials of the maker "I.P." or it could be "I.F" in a shaped stamp, with a large dot centrally midway up the stamp between the I and the following letter. There are a number of possible London silversmiths who have somewhat similar marks, but I can't positively identify it. The date mark is rubbed badly, but a strong curve is visible - it could be the b of 1777. No king's head, so pre 1784. Silver weight is approx. 135grms. Jug itself is in very good condition - the only faults are that the little hoof feet have curled up more than they should (one particularly) and need to be unfurled a little - there are no fractures, and the legs have not been driven up into the body, so a simple job for a silversmith. Everything else is perfect - can't see any sign of repairs. Pretty engraved design of simple flowers and cartouches around the lobed central body. Measures 9.5cm high to top of handle, and 8.2cm wide including handle (3.1/2 inches by 3.1/4 inches). A charming little piece.
A sauce or gravy boat of classical proportions, on three hoofed feet. Made by Mappin & Webb, and hallmarked for Sheffield 1938. Shaped rim. Measures 7.5cm wide, 16cm long and 8.5cm wide (3 inches by 6.1/4 inches by 3.1/4 inches). Weight is approx. 95grms. Very good condition.
A sterling silver napkin ring, with pretty engraving of flower and leaves either side of the cartouche. The initials "G.L.B." are engraved in the cartouche, in flowing script. Ring is just under 2cm high (3.4 inch) and is 4.5cm diameter (1.3/4 inches). Hallmarked for Birmingham (England) 1915. Very good condition.
Two little pepper pots - very similar in design, but bearing different hallmarks. One is very fractionally shorter than the other, and the design while almost identical, is slightly smaller in detail. One pot is hallmarked for Birmingham 1892, and the other for Chester 1892. One has its marks underneath, the other has them on the neck. Both tops are also hallmarked, on their inside rim. Pots are very ornate, with scrolling embossed design of flowers and acanthus foliage. Central cartouches are unengraved. One pot measures 7.7cm high, the other 7.5cm high (a fraction over 3 inches and 2.15/16 inches high). The widest point is 3.75cm diameter (1.1/2 inches). The top on the Birmingham one is loose, but this is easily fixed by a silversmith. Slight dent up underneath the base of this one. The Chester pot has some tiny dents in the neck, nothing serious or ugly though. Otherwise, both are in very good condition. Maker's mark for the Birmingham pot is HE and RS.. The maker on the Chester pot is rubbed, but looks like BR... (maybe S).
Four napkin rings, decorated with nielo pictures of camels, boats on the Nile, buildings on the river banks, and palm trees. Vintage souvenirs of Egypt, made in what is probably lower grade of silver, possibly .800 or similar. Very attractive rings, approx 2.7cm high (1 inch) although each aries a little bit. Approx. 4.5cm diameter (1.3/4 inches). Very good condition.

There are several variations of this McCoy Banana Cluster Wall pocket. This example is harder to find with the all green leaves. Also it has the brown trim at the top and bottom of the bananas. Unfortunately this piece has a factory flaw/repair. The leaf stem had been broken off and repaired. Not sure why this piece was not destroyed at the factory. however the repair is definitely glazed over from the factory. Measuring 6 1/4″ wide by 7 1/2″ tall, the piece is not marked as is common with these pockets. A hard to find wallpocket from McCoy.
This cute white swirled rib cache pot may have been made by Shawnee or McCoy, but the only identifying mark is the number 1420. It is fairly heavy for its size and in excellent condition. This luncheon set is in very good condition: the poppies on the cups are slightly faded, and there's a bit of wear to the green trim on the rims of the plates, but there are no nicks, cracks or chips. An altogether beautiful vintage pattern to grace your breakfast or dessert table. The list price includes shipping and handling to the continental United States. For other destinations, please contact us.
This is a wonderful large porcelain molded swirl teapot or tea pot made in the 1970s by the James Kent Old Foley pottery of Longton, Staffordshire England. The teapot has gold trim and is in excellent condition. Very bright and colorful and would make a wonderful addition to your tea table.
This neat mottoware or motto ware teapot, hot water pot, chocolate pot or covered jug or pitcher was made by Watcombe, Torquay in Devon, England and features the usual cottage and the motto Don't Worry It May Never Happen. The pot or jug was made 1930-1950s and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear which is rare and what a great motto. Gorgeous! This famous and fun pottery was manufactured in the south of England from the 1870s until the factories closed in the 1960s. It is usually of red clay decorated with bright glazes, cottages and mottos or sayings that run the gamut from proverbs and sound advice to nearly outrageous. Always fun and different and very collectible! A great piece for your breakfast egg and soldiers.
This is a gorgeous vintage Van Briggle bowl and flower frog. The bowl is a square shape with rounded corners that have a raised molded decoration of leaves. Also included is the original matching flower frog. The bowl measures 7 1/4″ wide (square) by 3″ tall. The flower frog measures 4″ wide. Other than some minor use residue in bowl, the set is in great condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Really a gorgeous set.
California Originals pottery Lazy Susan or Hor Doeuvre set. The set is a putty colored glaze with black speckles. There are 4 triangular open bowls surrounding a round covered dish.
The set is 14 inches in diameter. It would be perfect for cheese and crackers or chip and dip. There is a small 1/4 inche flake off 1 corner of 1 open dish and a small red speck in another. Great retro piece.
Lovely blue cow creamer with flowers and a windmill on her side, measures approximately 4 3/4 inches high and is in good condition. This cow creamer has her original bell hanging on her neck and I have included a picture of her manufacturer's mark. I believe this little creamer is from around the 1960s to the early 1970's.
A very nice set of 4 nesting Bowls, there are not marked on the bottom so I do not know who made them. Next to the small one, has a stain on the rim looks like a small chip. other wise they are in nice condition. Very useful and very heavy.
Pottery Flower Frog Centerpiece/Console Bowl. This is a very pretty green with blue speckle planter with frog and underplate. It is very large, measuring 14" long x 8 ľ" wide x 2" deep. Please contact me with any questions on this item. Each item is inspected by me, and my observations are in the listing. These items are inspected by eye only. I guarantee each item is as listed, or your money back.
This 5.5″ vase is just charming. It has a soft tan or light brown color and is overglazed with white stippling or ″snow″. The swirled sides flare out to over 4″ in width, then curve into the slim neck and mouth. Marked 330, Made in USA, then overstruck with a single initial ″N″, this piece may have been produced by Haegar. It's a unique piece that you won't find next door! The list price includes shipping and handling to the continental United States. For other destinations, please contact us.
Beautiful, Vintage and rather unusual Royal Winton Sugar bowl complete with plated lid containing scissor like tongs or grips.
The pattern is simply known as Chintz and, not unusually for this design, contains no reference to RW on the backstamp. As can be seen from the backstamp, the pattern is one of the few Chintz patterns to be produced by Royal Winton containing elements of Hand painting.
This delightful and intriguing item stands some 3.5 inches tall and has dimensions of 4 x 3. It is offered in EXCELLENT condition and the Tongs work perfectly.
A lovely addition to any Royal Winton (Grimwades) or Chintz collection.
Maximum Shipping of around $12.00-14.00 dependant on destination. OPTIONAL tracking and Insurance for Loss Only is available for a further $8.00
A Vintage, Royal Winton (Grimwades) Jam Pot and Liner in the Ascot Shape and featuring the Cotswold Chintz design.
The Jam pot, 2.75 inches square and 3.5 inches tall to the finial tip, stands on a matching, 4.25 square liner or saucer and is offered in Excellent condition.
Mild crazing is evident, as is usual with this type of pottery, and if I am to be at all critical it would be that the pattern to the lid has remained stronger with time than the Jar and Saucer. However this is barely noticeable and, as can be seen from the photos, The Jar and Saucer patterns remain strong and colourful.
Maximum Shipping of around $12.00-14.00 dependant on destination. OPTIONAL tracking and Insurance for Loss Only is available for a further $8.00
The SCHOOLTEACHER'S HOUSE is #33 of a series of 36 miniature porcelain houses and buildings (1980 to 1987). The series is based upon a mythical English village called Whimsey-on-WHY. This SCHOOLTEACHER'S HOUSE has a tiny flake off the base underneath near the one end but this flaw is so small that it would not show up in a picture and it does not show at all when the house is displayed. I am posting 8 pictures of this wonderful collector's item so please enjoy looking at all the pictures. I also have a SCHOOLTEACHER'S HOUSE listed in good condition. Please compare both listings before making your decision. If you wish to email me I would consider part CASH and part TRADE for this SCHOOLTEACHER'S HOUSE . If you have other duplicate Wade HOUSES they could be used as traders or we could consider other Wade items too. This SCHOOLTEACHER'S HOUSE is very difficult to find. Don't miss your opportunity to own this one. If you want me to list any of the other buildings in the set please e-mail me as I have most of them available. I will give a discount if at least 3 HOUSES are purchased now to be sent in one parcel or alternately I will give a discount if a quantity of HOUSES are purchased over a longer period of time. I also have the 3 colorful cardboard display cards for displaying the buildings. Buyer prepays and pays shipping charges of $12.00 which includes insurance - ( More to ship internationally ). Please check the other items that I have in the store . If you buy several items I can send them all in one package to help you with shipping charges. E-mail always welcome. Payment can be by money order or personal check.
The SCHOOLTEACHER'S HOUSE is #33 of a series of 36 miniature porcelain houses and buildings (1980 to 1987). The series is based upon a mythical English village called Whimsey-on-WHY. Good condition except for a small chip ( or flaw) on the roof corner at the left of the building at the back ( see pictures). This chip is barely noticeable and the building still displays well. I also have a SCHOOLTEACHER'S HOUSE listed in good condition. Please compare both listings before making your decision. If you wish to email me I would consider part CASH and part TRADE for this SCHOOLTEACHER'S HOUSE . This listing is for an incredibly beautiful Dresden encrusted rose basket with gold trim. The pictures on this basket don't do it justice. This basket is in exceptional condition. No wear to the paint. It is marked in gold on the bottom with the Dresden Crown. There is a very minor fleabit on one of the roses.
Please contact me with any questions on this item.
From Raynaud of Limoges France comes this beautiful pattern with black and white flowers and leaves against an abstract background of pink, gold and gray. These porcelain dessert plates are in excellent condition and measure 7-1/4″ in diameter. They have a pure white ground and gold trim, and are both classy and unique. The list price includes shipping and handling to the continental United States. For other destinations, please contact us.
This is a wonderful set of vintage Blue Ridge Rose Bud top Shakers. One is a yellow rose and one is a pink-red rose. Measuring 5 3/4″ tall, they are in good condition however the yellow has a small ding to bottom edge. The red/pink one has a pin-prick glaze flack to the top by one hole and the bottom ring of color is a bit smeared. This was done in the making and not damage. Really a nice set of shakers.
Mt Clemens Pottery Mildred pattern large covered sugar with 2 handles from the 1930s. The sugar bowl is in very good condition with 1 small glaze pop on the foot. The gold trim is 98% intact. Molded USA mark on the bottom.
Mt Clemens Pottery Mildred pattern small creamer from the 1930s.
The creamer is in excellent condition. The gold trim is 98% intact. There bottom has the molded USA mark.
Set of 10 elegant white porcelain snack trays have an embossed edge that suggests a seashell. Probably from the 60's or 70's and best guess is they were made by Lipper & Mann. 8″ round with minimal signs of wear. They're a great change from paper plates on your buffet. Sold as a set of 10. The list price includes shipping and handling to the continental United States. For other destinations, please contact us.
This is a wonderful vintage ″Fruits″ pitcher from Edwin Knowles' Utility Ware line. With great Art Deco styling, it has a very 1940s decal featuring a still life of apple, pear and plums It has an unusual narrow profile, measuring 7 1/2″ tall but only 3 1/4″wide. The pitcher is in great condition with a bit of minor use wear. The decals are bright and unfaded. The jug also comes with almost never seen lid. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. Of all the patterns Knowles made this pitcher in, this one was the most popular. A really gorgeous vintage Fruits piece.
